Video Transcript
Hello, my name is Georgina Ridehalgh and I work under the name of Fun Creations. I basically deliver art workshops for children of varying ages between the ages of 3 and 11 years.

On behalf of GrowingKids.co.uk today I am going to show you how to make a Native American Rattle.

To begin with we will need;

  • Common garden twigs
  • Felt cut into strips
  • Beads
  • Leather thong or fishing wire
  • Masking tape
  • Double sided tape
To begin with you take two sticks, place them into a Y shape and bind them together with masking tape. Cut the piece off one length and you have a Y shape stick.

Next, take your strips of fabric or felt and tie them round the sticks in a random design or you can design a pattern. Cover the whole stick, the tops are optional. Once you've covered them, you need to attach the rattle section.

If you take your leather thong or fishing wire, tie one side on securely and thread a selection of beads, common household washers, small charms or bells onto your thong. And then secure it at either side.
